One of the most ancient Sanskrit mantras, the Gayatri Mantra is a prayer for the enlightenment of all beings through the purification of our thoughts, words and deeds.
This is one of the first mantras I learnt from my best friend Ethno-botanist Ben Heron a Hindi speaker, who grilled me on perfecting my pronunciation of it.
I became so entranced by it that for the past 6 years have chanted it every time I have held a sound bath meditation or singing circle. Doing this has changed my life profoundly.
I can’t wait to share it with you.

Today 14th May 2021 I am releasing my version of The Heart Sutra.
A mantra that has brought such deep healing to my heart.
Gate Gate Paragate Parasamgate Bodhi Svaha
A prayer that translates as 'Go go far beyond, far beyond to where the wisdom lies.'
My prayer is that it nourishes all who hear it and it inspires you to create a little space each day to tune into Loving Kindness and take care of yourself a little more so that you can have more resource to take care of others and this beautiful planet we call home.

GOLD Music Video – A Global Creative Collaboration In Lockdown

During this time of isolation and separation, I wanted to bring people together, to create community. To encourage, inspire and support those from all around the world, all ages and all nationalities to unite in creating an expressive beacon of joy and celebration, to encourage people to connect to their innate creative expression and let go of any limiting beliefs. I had no idea though how healing the process would be not only for myself but for those involved.
Personally, it brought me into connection with people from all around the world, some lovers of my music, crowd-funders who supported the making of my 5 previous albums, others who I have taught on retreat, or been to my sound baths or qi gong workshops, family members and those who were inspired to be involved after seeing the invitation online.
I had put messages on all my social media platforms inviting people to join me in creating a video for GOLD, the opening song from my 4th Album, The Liminal.
The request was for people to submit a video clip expressing themselves however they wished in response to the song, which celebrates our potential as human beings:
‘We are one, we are gold, so let the light on in now and shine’.
I experience my own self-doubt and feelings of not being enough and also witness this daily in others. It seems a global part of human nature and this song really is an invitation to let go of those emotions, limiting beliefs, to get out of the mind and simply to allow that pure creative expression which brings so much happiness, to flow through unimpeded, so necessary for our mental health, during this time of continuous lockdowns.
Months passed and each day, I have collected new footage, chatted to the contributors and had the honour of piecing this video together. I have laughed, cried and celebrated, but I have not felt alone.
We have all been so affected by lockdown. I know so many people who have suffered from the isolation, the mental health battles as well as from Covid itself.
For me personally witnessing my fathers own battle with Covid and not being able to be with him in person was beyond distressing, losing my home and 95% of my work all combined to make this past year deeply challenging but making this video has brought healing to the parts of me that were suffering and I feel deeply grateful to have facilitated this nourishment not only for myself but for all those who have been involved thus far and I know this video will bring joy to all who watch it.

I first met Sarah at the launch of my 2nd Album Alive in 2011 she had been severely ill and bedridden for a very long time. I became patron to her charity SEATA where I witnessed and supported her battle to get well. Now after years of being unable to live a normal life she is so well she features heavily in the video dancing, singing and playing her ukulele. I couldn’t believe the transformation when she first sent me her video I burst into tears, knowing the journey she has been on.

We all need a bit more fun in our lives. I linked up the speaker, took the laptop, put my blonde wig on and the music medicine started. I have created this to support everyone, to spark play, and laughter and a sense of community. Even though we are in this strange Lockdown time, we can still connect, we can still create, still be beacons of positivity and loving-kindness. I believe more than ever this is needed to balance all the uncertainty and confusion that is shaking the ground beneath us.

During this time of isolation and separation I wanted to bring people together. To encourage, inspire and support those from all around the world, all ages and all nationalities to unite in creating something that is an expressive beacon of joy and celebration, but I was not anticipating the level of connection and healing it would bring.
Personally, for me making this video has been incredible and unexpectedly potent medicine. It has brought me into connection with people from all around the world, some lovers of my music, crowd-funders who supported the making of my albums, others who I have taught on retreats, family members or people who saw my invitation on social media and were inspired to join.
I had no idea when I began this process how deeply it would nourish and inspire me or those involved. The daily messages from people expressing an interest, to the videos that flooded in, to supporting people who wanted to join but were facing internal battles that rendered them incapable and then encouraging them along the path until they finally found the courage to film and send me their clips.
Months have passed and each day, I have received new footage. I have laughed, cried and celebrated, but I have not felt alone and I feel deeply deeply grateful for this.
