The anticipated album from the girl tipped by many as the next big thing
Tallullah Rendall’s singing voice is a contradiction – in the most acceptable of contradictions for it soars with a delicate air yet its delivery is tenacious and forceful. She has such musical ambidexterity it’s little wonder her limited edition “Without Time” EP sold out completely or that they clamour to hail her as special following the giddy evaluation her last two singles provoked. And now that she’s finally released this much visualised long player her admirers waiting in the wings of potential celebration can be confident in their remarkable foresight. The atmospheric “Only You” and the highs and lows of “Black Seagull” are just two of many tracks that make this album standout as prominently as if it had been in a visual 3D. It’s an intimate setting of a record and, hopefully, Tallullah goes on to produce more, much more, that’s as good as this one.
